About ParentMoat
Why ParentMoat exists
ParentMoat exists because keeping kids safe online shouldn’t require a cybersecurity degree. We turn the messy, jargon-heavy world of digital safety into calm, practical steps any parent can act on — protective, not invasive, and never fear-driven.
Who writes it
The site is written by Tye — a parent, and a working security professional — who got tired of online-safety advice that was either fear-mongering, sponsor-driven, or written by people who’d never actually set up a DNS filter themselves. Every guide here is the answer to a question Tye actually had to figure out as a parent, tested at home before it’s published.
How we work
ParentMoat is reader-supported. Some links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — but commissions never change a recommendation. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full statement.
Tye holds the CISSP and works in information security; ParentMoat is where that work meets parenting at home.
